Es muy difícil encontrar publicaciones especializadas en este tema, y en concreto el desconocimiento del proceso de la muda de la voz tanto en hombres como en mujeres está muy generalizado. INTRODUCCIÓN En España existe un vacío importante acerca de la didáctica del canto en esta etapa específica de la vida, la adolescencia. The au-thor maintains that continuous vocal training (theoretical and practical) would help adolescents to have a better atti-tude toward and opinions about choral singing in secondary school. Evidence leads us to discuss current prejudices about singing among adolescents. Quantitative data focus on aspects concerned with phonation. This study shows a method for categorizing the singing voice during adolescence. The recommendations from this study are addressed to the relevant institutions which should aim to encourage and support the work with choral ensembles and the improvement of practices regarding work with choir within general education. The research was carried out with choir teachers of different schools in Kosovo and satisfactory results were achieved, which highlight the real situation regarding the selection of the repertoire, its quality in terms of musical and textual content and the opportunities it offers to students in encouraging and developing musical talent. The design of this research was carried out through semi-structured interviews, including the detailed analysis of choral songs, both in terms of musical content and pedagogical aspects. Among other things, the research aims to identify and analyze these factors, through which it is intended to pave the way for further improvement in this matter. In this aspect, the experiences during the practical work of choir teachers and the technical or professional difficulties they encounter during the selection of choral songs have been studied. This study investigates the views and practices of teachers on the way of selecting the choral repertoire and the opportunities that this repertoire offers for encouraging musical development of from primary and lower secondary schools students within the framework of general education in Kosovo. The responses are in line with the data of past research and the ideas posited by authors in the professional literature. A disparity was found between high school directors (n=25) and middle school directors (n=39) in that 44.0 percent of high school directors ranked aesthetic value as their top criterion, and only 8.8 percent of middle school directors ranked the same criterion as their top criterion. The free response portion indicated that educational elements were the primary criterion when selecting music for curricular inclusion. A second portion asked the participant to rank the order of criteria that were identified in the research literature.įindings indicate that the top criterion ranked among the responding Florida band directors was aesthetic value. The survey asked that the participant list four pieces selected for performance throughout the year, and to provide reasoning for their selection. Subjects (N=64) responded to a survey sent in the last quarter of the school year. The purpose of this study was to collect data concerning the criteria used by Florida secondary school band directors when selecting music for curricular inclusion in their wind band programs.
